Kirsty Sanderson PG Dip. MBACP
Couples’ counselling, marital counselling, relationship therapy. Call it what you will, I had wanted to train to make this my career for many years. I was happy to finally find myself in a position to begin my counselling in 2011, and I haven’t looked back. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Relationship Therapy and I am fully Relate trained to work with families, couples and individuals in all areas of relationships. I now work in private practice alongside my Relate work and offer sessions in Chester.
My work and training has more recently taken me into working with children and young people in schools and I hold a Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Skills for Children and Teenagers.
My practice integrates various approaches, using mainly psychodynamic and systemic. I also achieved a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Skills to enable me to adopt a Cognitive Behavioural Approach where required.
Working with relationships and helping people make change is massively rewarding to me, as I see relationships (in whatever form) as the key to long term contentment. We could all use a hand from time to time and I offer a safe, confidential counselling service for adults. I am friendly and approachable within my professional service.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I regularly attend continuous professional development training and am supervised by a qualified supervisor as part of my professional status.
I work from a dedicated counselling room at home in Chester. I am fully insured to work as a private counsellor.
I offer a free 30 minute consultation. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and for me to go through some contract basics. If we both agree at the end of the session to carry on working you will be given a regular time slot.
